As part of measures to support Nigerian institutions in-line with her Corporate Social Responsibility mandate, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has commissioned a 500-seater lecture theatre in the University of Maiduguri built for the school’s Faculty of Engineering.
Speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director, Mr Maikanti Kachalla Baru reiterated the corporation’s commitment to supporting institutions in a bid to touch the lives of Nigerians through their special intervention programmes.
The Managing Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Mrs Doris Ozoemena who represented the GMD at the event said in her speech: “I wish to confer the apology of the Group Managing Director of NNPC who is unavoidably absent to mark the commissioning and handover of the newly constructed 500-seater lecture theatre for the Faculty of Engineering in the University of Maiduguri. My presence with my team re-emphasizes the importance NNPC places on supporting institutions like yours through our Corporate Social Responsibility programme.”
Highlighting the project details, she said; “The the project entails engineering design, material procurement, construction of 500 seater lecture theatre, testing, and commissioning of all install equipment, painting, metal work, decoration as well as completion of all external services; the project was completed in April 2021.”
Expressing gratitude to the contractors she said, “I wish to also thank the contractor, Jamub Global Services Ltd, and their team for not only delivering a professional and standard work but also on schedule. We are proud of working with you, we shall not hesitate to do business when the need arises.”
Also speaking, the Group Managing Director of Jamub Group of Companies, Prince Jacob Momoh appreciating the NNPC for the privilege to be part of the project reiterated the Group’s commitment to providing clients with top-notch service delivery.

Dr karrim stated that Jamub Global Services Limited which is a subsidiary of Jamub Group had built and delivered signature projects across the country, adding that after touring the school premises he could make bold to say that the completed lecture theatre was the best so far in the school. He further narrated that the testament was brought forward by the School’s Director of Procurement and the NNPC representatives who averred that the structure was outstanding. According to him, when the representative of the GMD went into the building she compared it to a senate building, just like the Red Chamber in the National Assembly.
In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Aliyu Shugada, thanked the NNPC for the donation, noting that they were impressed at the swift response to their request.
